All of our silver chains are imported from Italy and created from 100% .925 grade sterling silver. They are beautifully shiny and are a common thickness used with pendants. The thicknesses were chosen to be strong enough (as well as beautiful) to hold a pendant without overpowering it.

We use the millimeters of width (thickness) rather than guage to describe how thick or thin the chains are since "040" to one company may be entirely different than "040" to another. By describing the thickness in millimeters it gives you, the customer, a chance to look on a ruler and get a good, visual idea of what you are purchasing.

Snake chains were aptly named because of their likeness to snake skin. Snake chains are more tightly woven than some of their counterparts and can handle heavier pendants than open weave lightweight chains. The thicker snake chains are a popular gent's chain to wear without a pendant as well.
